How did you start your journey and begin with Maui Jim?
From a beginning in five star luxury hotel meeting & incentive sales in the UK, my wife and I immigrated to the USA in 2002 for my new role as head of sales & marketing for a US based full-service incentive house in Dallas, before joining the Maui Jim corporate gifts team in 2008.
What’s the most interesting place your travels have taken you?
There have been many but the high notes were definitely climbing the Sydney Harbor Bridge in Sydney Australia, as well as taking in the amazing view of the Caldera from a mountainside bar in Santorini, Greece.
What’s the best thing about owning a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses?
There are several but key for me is the way they allow me to see such incredible vistas as I travel, and that they squint for me and thereby prevent me getting headaches.
What’s something people don’t know about Maui Jim that they should know?
That all Maui Jim sunglasses have an anti-reflective coating on the reverse of their lenses, this prevents sunlight reflecting off of that lens and into your retina.
What’s the best gift you’ve ever received (and why)?
My first pair of Maui Jim’s when I was a buyer of meeting and incentive travel of course! The experience was so cool, with great choice, customer service and instant gratification that we all love.
If you were a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses, which style would you be (and why)?
Definitely Ho’okipa’s as they are incredibly robust, hard wearing, and never let you down, traits that I equate to working hard, perseverance and being a road warrior.
